Have you found the perfect Christmas gift for the family yet? It can be a big quest for that one special present, especially if you have no idea what to give someone. Personally, I love giving unique gifts, and homemade presents are the perfect choice. In this blog, I share three of my favorite homemade Christmas gifts that have brought joy to many.
For Her:
A relaxing gift that can bring joy to your mother, sister, or friend is bath salts. It’s super simple but delightful to give. Find a glass jar and decorate it with a label/sticker, then fill it with personalized bath salts.
Ingredients:
½ cup Epsom Salt
¼ cup Himalayan salt or Celtic sea salt
2 tablespoons baking soda
10 drops essential oil
Mix it well, and the bath salts are ready to be placed under the tree.
My favorite oils to add to bath salts are:
Lavender, Peace & Calming, Frankincense, Cedarwood, Release, and Transformation.
Tip:
Bath salts also make a great gift for someone without a bath. A foot soak is always an option.
For Him:
For him, a homemade gift is also an option. A truly fine beard oil is not easy to find, but making it yourself is! Choose a rugged dropper bottle to store the beard oil.
Ingredients for a 30ml bottle:
20-30 drops essential oil
Carrier oil such as grapeseed oil, V6, almond oil, or jojoba oil.
Favorite combinations to add to the beard oil are:
Rosemary – Frankincense – Cedarwood
Calming with a bit of spice.
Frankincense – Lavender
Soothing and relaxing.
For Everyone:
There are family members for whom you really can’t think of a gift. Then consider giving homemade Christmas gifts. One of my favorites to make for someone who has everything is a homemade ornament. Create special Christmas ornaments or ones that fit another theme for the recipient. These ornaments are perfect for hanging on the Christmas tree but can also be placed in a bathroom, wardrobe, bedroom, or hallway. Essentially, anywhere you want to spread a subtle fragrance. Include a bottle of your favorite essential oil, and you have a super cute gift.
Ingredients:
Air-dry clay
Cookie cutters
Straw
Ribbon
Optional dried flowers
Roll out the clay to a thickness of 1 cm. Press the dried flowers into the clay if desired. Use a cookie cutter to cut out the shape of your choice. Use a straw to make a small hole in the ornament. Let the clay dry (check the packaging for the recommended time). Attach a ribbon to the ornament so it can be hung.
